The land dedicated to commercial vegetable production has grown by 218 hectares following the launch of the vegetable zone in Tanahun, according to figures shared by senior agricultural development officer Purna Dhungana from the Gorkha office of the National Agriculture Modernization Program. The initiative has reached a total of 1,989 beneficiaries across the district since its inception, involving local producers in structured farming activities designed to boost agricultural output in the region. Parallel to the vegetable initiative, the district has recorded an expansion of 85 hectares in rice cultivation since the establishment of the dedicated rice zone. Operations for this cereal crop zone are channelled through two cooperatives, a pair of farmer groups, and ten individual agricultural entrepreneurs operating within the area.
