Traditional grain mills vanish from Lamjung villages

Alongside these flavours, the traditional labour culture and indigenous technology of the villages are slipping into the past. With only a couple of households retaining these wooden and stone devices, locals warn that an entire chapter of local heritage is at risk of vanishing entirely. To safeguard these fading implements, community members have urged local government bodies to launch dedicated preservation programmes. They suggest connecting the traditional tools to homestay operations, cultural tourism initiatives, local school syllabuses and community museums. Keeping the unused equipment secure, educating younger generations about its cultural significance and linking it to regional tourism are seen as vital steps toward protecting this traditional knowledge.
