Dashain inspires unity and prosperous nation building, says Dahal

National Assembly Chair Narayanprasad Dahal has expressed belief that the Dashain festival will inspire everyone to strengthen national unity, social harmony, tolerance and mutual respect. He noted that these efforts contribute directly toward building an advanced, inclusive and prosperous country. Describing the celebration as an indigenous occasion carrying deep religious, cultural and social significance, Dahal stated that the festival represents the victory of truth over falsehood and justice over injustice. He added that the tradition of receiving tika, jamara and blessings from elders increases the value of the occasion. Dahal mentioned in his message that religious rituals spanning from the start of the festival to Vijaya Dashami, alongside family reunions, keep cultural heritage, intimacy and intergenerational traditions alive. He highlighted that the country is enriched by multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-religious and multi-cultural diversity, pointing out that the constitution guarantees religious and cultural freedom while prioritising the preservation of diverse languages, traditions and heritages.
