Manmaneshwari Bhawani Khadga Jatra concludes in Lalitpur

The traditional procession of Manmaneshwari Bhawani concluded on Saturday on Trayodashi following established religious rituals and traditional practices. Samrajyadev Shrestha, chairperson of the Manmaneshwari Payo Jatra Management Committee, confirmed the successful completion of the annual heritage event. The celebrations begin every year on Phulpati when Manmaneshwari Bhawani is transferred from the agamghar to be seated at Moolchok, marking the start of the days-long cultural observance in Lalitpur. Speaking about the heritage event, the committee chairperson described the celebration as a symbol of glorious history, indigenous culture, and living tradition. He added that the festival forms an integral part of the historical cultural traditions of Lalitpur, helping to maintain religious beliefs, guthi systems, and community unity across generations. On Navami, the Thasimalah Payo Jatra was conducted from Mahalaxmisthan, followed on Dashami evening by a sacred meeting between Sri Bhawani and Sri Navadurga from Moolchok to the crossroads outside. The festival concluded on Trayodashi when Manmaneshwari Bhawani was returned from Moolchok to be enthroned once again in the private prayer room. Organisers expressed satisfaction with the successful execution of this year's proceedings and noted that preparations for future events will incorporate stakeholder suggestions. The committee also mentioned that Lalitpur Metropolitan City provides comprehensive assistance to ensure that community festivals carrying living societal history do not face financial difficulties or operational constraints.
