The Himalayan district of Mustang produced apples valued at an estimated Rs 1.14 billion this current year, according to preliminary information released by the Agriculture and Livestock Development Office. Initial output figures were gathered across five local levels in the region, reflecting cultivation across 662 hectares of dedicated orchards. Office chief Lalmani Aryal noted the financial breakdown between modern high-density plantings and older farming methods. Traditional local varieties contributed the lion's share of the financial total. Reports differ slightly on the exact valuation of traditional output, with one figure recorded at Rs 919.091 million and another listed at Rs 919.91 million. In terms of physical volume, traditional apples accounted for 6,078.92 metric tonnes. Authorities established a pricing standard of Rs 151 per kilogram for these standard local fruits. Meanwhile, hybrid fruits grown via high-density technology brought in significant revenue despite lower overall tonnage. One dataset valued the hybrid harvest at Rs 230.6 million while a separate preliminary figure placed it at Rs 236 million. The total weight for hybrid varieties reached 959.62 metric tonnes, with a fixed market price of Rs 240 per kilogram set for consumers. Combined metrics for the regional harvest indicate a total production of 7,038.54 metric tonnes of fruit. This harvest covers the collective yield of both the traditional and hybrid categories gathered by agricultural technicians surveying the area's orchards this season.
