Nepal secure ten-run victory against Oman in League match

During the ICC Cricket World Cup League fixture held at Al Amerat Cricket Ground, the toss was won by the visiting side, who decided to take the crease first. The team put together a total of 281 runs by the end of their allotted overs. Captain Rohit Paudel played a leading role in the innings, accumulating 80 runs from 81 balls, which featured a pair of boundaries and two maximums. Additional substantial contributions came from the middle order, with Dipendra Singh Airee contributing 69 runs from 62 deliveries, encompassing three fours and four sixes. Dev Khanal also added 57 runs off 65 balls, hitting four boundaries and one maximum. These batting efforts propelled the total to a competitive figure for the opposing side to chase. Chasing the target of 281 runs, Oman mounted a strong challenge through notable knocks from Jatinder Singh, who recorded 89 runs, and Hamad Mirza, who added 87 runs. Despite their efforts, the chasing side fell short of the required mark, finishing their innings at 270 runs before being bowled out entirely. The bowling attack successfully defended the target to seal a narrow ten-run victory. The match concluded with Oman falling just short of the 281-run target, confirming the outcome in favour of the batting side from the opening innings.
