Pakistani army says 16 terrorists killed in Balochistan operations

The Inter-Services Public Relations, the communication wing of Pakistan's army, reported that two separate operations in the southwestern province of Balochistan resulted in the deaths of 16 terrorists within a 48‑hour period. The first operation took place on Thursday in the Shaban area, a locality close to the provincial capital Quetta. During the Shaban raid, five militants were killed and security forces recovered weapons, ammunition and explosives from the site. The army described the target as a terrorist hideout and highlighted the seizure of materiel as evidence of the operation's success. A second operation occurred on Friday in the Nushki district, where intelligence led to an encounter that left 11 terrorists dead after an intense exchange of fire with security personnel. The army characterised the clash as part of its ongoing counter‑terrorism efforts in the region. According to the ISPR, the combined operations are part of a wider campaign launched on 21 September, which has so far resulted in 33 terrorist fatalities in Balochistan. The military emphasised that the operations aim to dismantle terrorist networks and restore stability in the province.
