How WeNepal is staffed today, the roles planned for 2027, and how to tell us you are interested.
How WeNepal is staffed
WeNepal is run by a small team. The newsroom software does most of the work; people supervise it, review held stories, correct errors and set the rules. That is deliberate: it keeps the service fast and light, and it means every hire we make is for judgement, not volume.

Open roles, when there are any, are listed below. If nothing is listed, there are no openings today, but you can still register your interest.

Roles planned for 2027
As WeNepal grows, we plan to add:
- Editor-in-Chief, responsible for editorial standards, sensitive-category decisions and corrections.
- Editors (Nepali and English) to review held stories, write explainers and run the Pulse.
- Video editor for the daily Pulse and short-form video.
- Regional stringers in Biratnagar, Itahari, Pokhara, Nepalgunj and Janakpur, paid per story, when original reporting begins.
- Social manager for channels and community.
Hiring starts when audience and revenue targets are met; we do not post roles we cannot fund.
What we look for
- Fluent written Nepali or English, ideally both, with an ear for plain language.
- Care about accuracy, sourcing and fairness above speed.
- Comfort working with software that drafts and with rules that are enforced in code.
- Independence: we ask all newsroom staff to declare conflicts of interest.
