WeNepal is an independent, bilingual news platform for Nepal. We read the day's reporting from every major outlet, write a short summary in our own words, link every source, and deliver it in Nepali and English on the web, in the app, on Telegram and by email.
We are not a copy of other outlets and we are not an opinion site. We are a summary and explainer layer over Nepal's news, built as software first so it is fast, clean and light on ads.
Who we are
WeNepal is an independent news platform for Nepal. It is not affiliated with any political party, government, company or sponsor.
The WeNepal newsroom sets its own editorial line and the rules published on this site, and editors decide what is published. Commercial relationships are disclosed on the page and never influence coverage.

Lacspace is WeNepal's technology provider. It supplies the platform this site and the app run on, the AI engine that drafts summaries under our rules, and the hosting. It works like any software vendor: it does not choose, edit or approve stories, and it has no say over what we cover or how.
Independence

- No party, government, company or sponsor decides what we cover or how.
- The governance tracker reports facts about whoever is in government.
- Sponsored content is always labelled and never appears in politics or election coverage.
- Newsroom staff declare conflicts of interest and step away from stories they touch.

How the newsroom works
WeNepal is AI-assisted and human-reviewed. Machines draft; people decide.
- Step 1:
Sources. Our engine follows trusted Nepali and international outlets and official sources such as Nepal Rastra Bank, the Supreme Court and government ministries.
- Step 2:
Drafting. When two or more independent outlets report the same event, the engine writes a summary of 80 to 120 words, three bullet points and a source list, using only facts found in those sources.
- Step 3:
Automatic checks. Every number, name, date and quote is checked against the sources. Copied sentences are rejected. Anything sensitive is held for an editor.
- Step 4:
Human review. Routine stories that pass every check can publish automatically and are labelled "Auto-published · routine". Everything else waits for an editor, and every story about elections, courts, deaths, health emergencies, communal tension or named individuals always waits for an editor.
- Step 5:
Corrections. When we get something wrong, we say so on the story and on the public corrections page.
Every story carries the label "AI-assisted summary · Reviewed by WeNepal" or "Auto-published · routine", and a list of its sources. Read the plain-language AI policy for the detail.
