The sports organisation Karnali Yaks has formally honoured the veteran runner and athletics coach Hari Bahadur Rokaya during an event held on 19 Asar. As part of the recognition, the organisation presented Rokaya with a cash prize of 50,000 rupees. The head of Karnali Yaks, Grihendra Ghimire, spoke during the ceremony to highlight Rokaya's dedication. Grihendra Ghimire noted that the athlete has played an exceptional role in elevating the profile of both the Karnali region and the entire country on international platforms through sports. Rokaya currently operates his own training ground, though he has remarked that these existing facilities remain insufficient for current demands. Athletes and coaches have consistently pointed out that developing adequate sports infrastructure and expanding training opportunities across the region would help discover many more talented individuals. The guidance and inspiration provided by Rokaya have already facilitated the emergence of several national and international runners originating from Karnali.
