Vehicular movement has fully resumed along the Besisahar-Chame road following six days of continuous clearing and repair work. The critical mountain route became impassable after persistent rain triggered flooding and landslides in the region. Restoration efforts were led by the Manang Marsyangdi Hydropower Company, which deployed heavy equipment, field crews, diesel, and essential technical resources to clear debris and reconstruct damaged sections. According to Prateek Man Singh Pradhan, coordinator at Butwal Power Company, crews successfully restored the roughly 60-kilometer road stretch within six days. Pradhan stated that the project was carried out through close coordination with local road infrastructure agencies and other neighboring hydropower projects operating in the corridor. The obstruction occurred primarily after a swollen stream near Chame blocked the main river flow, creating an artificial pool that threatened nearby infrastructure. The operational recovery of the transport corridor provides vital relief to remote communities in the Himalayan district of Manang. Officials note that approximately 5,600 residents across 13 local villages directly benefit from the reinstated access, which allows the passage of essential goods and vehicular traffic. The company confirmed it has previously dispatched manpower and emergency assistance for routine maintenance and rapid restoration along this vulnerable highway segment.
