Chitwan Rhinos Defeat Biratnagar Kings by Eight Runs in NPL Match

Chitwan Rhinos secured an eight-run victory over Biratnagar Kings to begin their Nepal Premier League campaign on Tuesday, 27 October 2026. The match took place at the TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. Chitwan set a target of 158 runs after posting 157 for seven in their 20 overs. David Malan led the scoring for Chitwan with 70 runs, supported by Ravi Bopara, who finished unbeaten on 31, and Dan Mousley, who remained unbeaten on 29. Dev Khanal added 12 runs, while Arjun Saud contributed three runs to the target. Four bowlers from Biratnagar Kings claimed one wicket each. Chasing a total of 158, Biratnagar Kings were dismissed for 149 runs in 19.3 overs. Opener Imran Sheikh top-scored for the Kings with 39 runs, while fellow opener Lokesh Bam made 26 runs. All-rounder Andre Russell made a rapid contribution, scoring 33 runs off 17 balls, before departing with his team needing 26 runs off 25 balls. The match swung into a close finish when Biratnagar Kings lost their eighth wicket, Parrish GC, for a duck, leaving the team needing 17 runs from the remaining two overs. At one stage, the Kings required 16 runs from 10 balls with two wickets remaining. Kamal Airee spearheaded the bowling performance for Chitwan Rhinos, taking four wickets to close out the innings and ensure an eight-run victory for his side.
