Trials for large cardamom cultivation have proven successful in Musung village, situated in ward number 3 of Beni Municipality. Following an initial test phase that began three years ago, local agricultural workers have started expanding the crop for commercial purposes across the area. Ward Chair Padam Pun explained that the plants began yielding good results within a damp alder forest located in the Charkhola area. Favourable weather patterns, appropriate topography, and accessible markets with fair pricing have motivated growers to clear unused damp land for cultivation. Following the success of the pilot project, local farmers have extended farming operations across a total area exceeding twenty ropanis. Additional residents in the region are now showing interest in adopting the crop as commercial expansion continues to gain momentum.
