In short

  • Manaslu Larke Pass trekking route has officially opened for travel.
  • TAAN issued a notice on Thursday urging trekkers to exercise caution.
  • Budhi Gandaki River floods damaged access roads and trail sections.

The Manaslu Larke Pass trekking route has officially reopened for travellers and hiking groups, according to a notice released on Thursday by the Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN) in Kathmandu. Following the announcement, the association issued an explicit advisory requesting all visitors to exercise extreme caution throughout their journey due to compromised physical conditions along the route. The official safety warning was prompted by catastrophic flooding along the Budhi Gandaki River, which severely impacted local infrastructure. TAAN stated that the floodwaters caused extensive damage to vital access roads leading into the area and destroyed or degraded critical walking segments of the main trekking path, introducing added difficulty and risk for pedestrians. Despite the extensive structural damage suffered by the access roads and trail sections near the Budhi Gandaki River, movement along the Manaslu Larke Pass circuit is fully permitted again. TAAN has advised expedition organisers, local guides, and individual hikers to take necessary safety precautions, monitor the terrain closely, and maintain continuous vigilance when navigating through the disrupted areas.
