Regular flights connecting Pokhara and Jomsom have been suspended by two private airline operators before the seasonal period concluded. According to the civil aviation office head in Jomsom, Tara Air halted its scheduled services during the preceding week, while Summit Air stopped its regular flights on Monday. An official representing Summit Air explained that travellers cancelled their bookings due to catastrophic flooding incidents and road network blockages affecting multiple locations across the country. Consequently, the companies found it necessary to suspend their scheduled operations. Typically, the air route between Pokhara and Jomsom operates on a regular basis from August through November each year. Historical data indicates that the two carriers collectively manage upwards of two hundred regular flights annually on this specific connection. Despite the suspension of regular schedules, representatives mentioned that charter flight options remain available for travellers. Preparations are also underway to transport individuals as required through alternative arrangements while regular services stay paused.
