The Sudurpaschim Royals demonstrated a strong recovery in the third season of the Nepal Premier League following a stinging loss against the Lumbini Lions in their opening fixture. Head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and captain Dipendra Singh Airee voiced strong confidence in the squad's capability to bounce back from that initial setback. Winning the coin toss, skipper Airee decided to field first against the Pokhara Avengers. The bowling attack succeeded in containing the batting side to 145/7 during the opening innings. Anil Kharel claimed three wickets, while Hemant Dhami, Scott Kuggeleijn, and Airee each secured one wicket for the Royals. During the run chase, a significant partnership of 74 runs for the fourth wicket between Airee and Pandey ensured the Royals stayed on course to successfully chase the target and seal the victory.
