Inside WeNepal
WeNepal Pulse and videos: the day's news in minutes, to read, hear or watch
The Pulse is WeNepal's morning and evening digest, to read on the web or hear in the app. Short videos cover the news too. Here is where to find both.
Not everyone has time to scroll through every story. The Pulse and our short videos are built for those moments: the main news of the day in a few minutes, whether you prefer to read, listen or watch.
The Pulse: a digest, morning and evening
The Pulse is WeNepal's daily digest. There are two editions a day, a Morning Pulse and an Evening Pulse, each in Nepali and English.
Each edition picks the stories that matter most and gives each one a single line, with a link to the full story when you want more. It is the fastest way to know what happened in Nepal since you last looked.
Read it on the web
The latest edition is always at wenepal.com/pulse, and in Nepali at wenepal.com/ne/pulse. Every past edition stays online in the archive, one page per day, so you can go back to any date. Where an edition has a digest video, it plays alongside the text.
Hear it in the app
In the WeNepal app you can also listen to the Pulse:
- The newsroom voice. When an edition is published, an audio version is produced in each language, read in the WeNepal newsroom voice, a synthetic voice.
- Chapters. Each story is its own chapter, so you can skip ahead or go back, and the story being read is highlighted.
- Your pace. Change the playback speed, and keep listening with the screen locked or while using another app.
- Always available. If the audio for an edition is not ready, your phone's own voice reads the digest instead.
There is also a quick story mode, "Pulse in 60 seconds", that runs through the edition one card at a time.
Get it as an alert
The morning and evening Pulse alerts are on by default in the app once you allow notifications. You can turn either one off, or set quiet hours, in the app's settings.
Short videos
Many WeNepal stories also become short vertical videos, made for watching on a phone. Each one covers a single story in a short clip, with captions on screen in the language of the video, so you can follow it with the sound off.
Where to watch
- On the web, at wenepal.com/video. Each video has its own page with the related story, and a transcript where one is available.
- In the app, in the Video tab: a swipeable feed of the latest videos.
- On social channels: our YouTube channel, @wenepalnews, carries videos in Nepali and English, and we also post on Facebook and Instagram. The full list of our accounts is on the contact page.
How our videos are made
Our videos follow the same rules as our stories: facts from public sources and the WeNepal research team, in our own words, with the same checks. Some videos use a synthetic voice. Where we publish them on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram or TikTok, we turn on the platform's own setting for altered or synthetic content.
Visuals come from licensed stock libraries, our own graphics, or freely licensed and official photos with their credit, never from other outlets. Stock footage is labelled as file footage, so it is never presented as the event itself, and music is used only under a licence that allows it. Our tools never generate an image of a real person or clone a real person's voice. You can read the full rules in our AI policy.

They all come from the same newsroom and the same checks, explained in How the WeNepal newsroom works.
