Poor weather and low visibility closed five airports on Friday and disrupted domestic flights across Nepal. Tribhuvan International Airport authorities said Bharatpur, Pokhara, Lukla, Simara and Surkhet could not operate from early morning. Kathmandu's airport was running under Instrument Flight Rules, but services that depend on Visual Flight Rules were affected, with visibility around 3 kilometres at 6am and little changed by 10am. Lukla routes were hit hardest: Sita Air cancelled all its Friday flights, while Tara Air and Summit Air waited for conditions to improve.
