Festivities marking the tenth day of the Bada Dashain period are underway nationwide as families gather to receive sacred offerings. Participants receive jamara and tika alongside formal blessings from their elders, a custom representing prosperity and good fortune. These blessed items are regarded as gifts from Goddess Nawadurga. The chairperson of the Nepal Calendar Determination Development Committee, Purushottam Bhattarai, noted that rituals involving the immersion of the deity into local water bodies were scheduled for 8:49 am. Meanwhile, the auspicious moment for accepting the divine prasad was determined to be 10:26 am. Although a specific time was recommended for receiving the prasad, officials explained that the entire period following the morning immersion remains appropriate for accepting blessings throughout the day. Citizens continue these traditions with relatives across multiple households. The celebrations on this day signify the culmination of earlier prayer rituals dedicated to the deity. Families maintain the practice of visiting senior relatives to secure well-wishes as the autumn holiday reaches its central day.
