Commercial banks operating in the country generated a total net profit of Rs 19.145 billion during the initial three months of the current fiscal year. Financial reports released by the institutions indicate this figure marks a 45.58 percent expansion when measured against the same timeframe of the preceding year, when total earnings stood at Rs 13.15 billion. Financial analysts attribute the growth to a significant decrease in the cost of funds alongside a reduction in loan loss provisioning across the sector.
