Chief District Officer Shravan Kumar Pokharel visited the under-construction road section on Saturday alongside project representatives to identify existing obstacles and search for potential resolutions. Construction work has faced delays because local bodies have not advanced procedures despite the necessary revenue having been paid for three lakh cubic metres of soil. Project engineer Aashray Mahat explained that construction has encountered multiple roadblocks due to various local demands. These include calls for an overpass in the border town that was absent from the initial design, bus stand management in Dhulabari, obstacles in the Charali overpass zone, and an additional overpass near a school area. To address these concerns, representatives from the construction company and the project visited the district administration office on Tuesday of the previous week to brief Pokharel. Following this, Pokharel urged the project representatives and construction firm to accelerate road building while ensuring safe movement, organised diversions, adequate road signs, and effective traffic management. Pokharel also noted that coordination is currently underway with relevant local bodies and the member of the House of Representatives elected from the district to resolve the local level complications affecting the project schedule.
