The 11th edition of the Nepal International Trade Fair is scheduled to take place in Kathmandu from December 3 to December 7. Organised by the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry with government backing, the event seeks to promote international trade. Participants representing six nations—Nepal, China, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Bhutan—will showcase products during the five-day exhibition. A primary objective of the fair is to increase exports of priority items designated under the Nepal Trade Integration Strategy. These goods include cardamom, tea, ginger, handicrafts, pashmina, as well as medicinal and fragrant herbs. The business federation expressed confidence that the showcase will help drive export volume for these identified agricultural and manufactured items in overseas markets. Organisers anticipate that the platform will attract international technology and foreign investment into Nepal. By presenting domestic items to international buyers, the federation aims to strengthen the broader national economy through enhanced commercial ties. Separately, domestic market records show that the price of gold dropped by Rs 3, 200 per tola on Friday.
