Weather patterns across the country are shifting due to the influence of Cyclone Arnab originating from the Bay of Bengal. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the weather system is anticipated to bring precipitation and high-altitude snowfall up to Saturday. Partial cloud cover and light showers have already been registered in parts of Lumbini Province, signaling the arrival of the system. Meteorologist Binu Maharjan stated that moderate precipitation is likely across many mountainous areas in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Similar moderate downpours are forecast for numerous locations within the hilly and Tarai regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. Furthermore, heavy to very heavy precipitation is anticipated in several areas. Specific locations within Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces face the possibility of extremely heavy downpours at one or two spots. Mountainous regions across the nation are simultaneously expected to receive snowfall as the weather system progresses. Residents and farmers are advised to monitor updates and take necessary precautions against potential disruptions caused by the adverse weather. The meteorological office continues to track the trajectory of the cyclone originating near Andhra Pradesh in India. Officials urge communities in vulnerable areas to remain alert to changing conditions over the coming days as the adverse weather system moves further into the region.
