The third edition of the Nepal Premier League will introduce the decision review system across all matches, according to official statements from the Cricket Association of Nepal. The tournament is scheduled to run from 26 October to 21 November 2026. Officials mentioned that the technology is being integrated to ensure that umpiring decisions on the field are more precise, impartial and free from controversy. Previous editions of the tournament saw teams and players expressing dissatisfaction regarding certain decisions made by umpires on the field. To address these concerns, the governing body has prepared to implement modern sporting technology starting from the upcoming third season. Players will be granted opportunities to review umpire calls using standardized review protocols widely utilised in international cricket. For leg before wicket decisions, full three-dimensional ball tracking technology will be utilized alongside edge detection powered by artificial intelligence to verify if the ball has made contact with the bat. Furthermore, the association stated that the systems will measure the distance and height of sixes while providing various analytical data regarding bowling performances. Facilities will also be available to test wide ball calls based on the height of the ball. The introduction of modern technological aids marks a significant step for domestic cricket standards in Kathmandu. Third umpires will be equipped to closely examine run outs, leg before wicket decisions and catches with the assistance of advanced tracking mechanisms. Organisers released these details through a press statement outlining the schedule and technical enhancements for the upcoming tournament.
