Transport services have resumed along the 95-kilometre Simkot-Hilsa road section after heavy snowfall previously blocked vehicular movement across the high-mountain route. Authorities dispatched heavy machinery, equipment, and dedicated technical crews to clear accumulated snow from the highway. According to Road Project Chief Bel Bahadur Nepali, the office deployed its own fuel, machinery operators, and equipment to ensure the pass was opened efficiently. The obstruction had temporarily isolated travellers, local residents, and visitors in the border territory. With the route now operational, movement through the Hilsa border point has been restored. The reopening allows tourists, local commuters, and Nepalis engaged in commerce or employment in China's Taklakot and Purang areas to travel safely across the border. The resumption of traffic brings timely relief to numerous workers preparing to return to their hometowns for the upcoming Dashain celebrations. Prior to the snow clearance, blocked roads hindered movement across the region. Project records show that 55 kilometres of the total 95-kilometre stretch have undergone gravel surfacing to support transport connectivity.
