A civil engineer originally hailing from Gorkha has established a thriving agricultural enterprise in Kathmandu, generating substantial monthly savings through cattle and buffalo farming. Operating in Ramkot, Dandapauwa within Nagarjun Municipality-6, the venture demonstrates how dedication can lead to success outside traditional engineering fields. The founder launched an integrated agriculture firm in Jestha 2077 [२०७७], balancing technical work with animal husbandry. The business involves an investment of NPR 10 crore [१० करोड] and operates on six ropanis of land rented at a monthly rate of NPR 1 lakh [एक लाख]. Daily milk production from the farm reaches 1,200 litres, which is supplied to a model dairy. The operation maintains a large herd consisting of numerous cattle and 50 buffaloes, managed with the collaboration of fellow engineer and spouse Sangeeta over the past seven years. Financial returns from the venture are strong, with net monthly savings reaching NPR 15 lakh [१५ लाख] after accounting for expenses. Feed costs constitute a major portion of the operational expenditure. Beyond personal income, the enterprise provides direct employment opportunities for local workers, contributing to rural employment and agricultural production in the region.
