Education and Sports Minister Sasmit Pokharel has described the Nepal Premier League as a vital foundation for advancing sports tourism and enhancing the nation's international image. Speaking after the opening ceremony of the tournament's third edition, he noted that the event helps solidify Nepal's standing on the global stage. He characterised the competition as a Festival of Himalayas that brings wide visibility to the region. During his remarks, the minister welcomed foreign players, commentators, and visiting guests who arrived in the country for the tournament. He expressed expectations that these international visitors would engage with Nepali cricket while also experiencing the local hospitality, natural landscapes, and cultural heritage. According to Pokharel, the presence of international sports figures offers a major boost to regional tourism and sports development. Alongside the sporting event, clear weather conditions across the Kathmandu Valley have brought out vibrant displays of marigold flowers, signalling the onset of the Tihar festival. Yellow and orange marigolds in full bloom across various locations are contributing to the seasonal festivities. Local preparations for house decorations, traditional garlands, and ritual worship continue as the holiday period approaches.
