The Nepal Premier League has secured official T20 recognition from the International Cricket Council, according to an announcement by the Cricket Association of Nepal on Friday. This development marks a milestone for the domestic franchise cricket tournament, elevating its standing on the international sporting calendar. Previously, participating teams faced strict caps on the recruitment of overseas cricketers for their squads. With the newly granted recognition from the governing body, these limits have been removed entirely. Franchises now enjoy complete freedom when signing international players to compete in the tournament. The governing body's decision provides participating teams with significantly greater flexibility as they plan their rosters for upcoming matches. Organisers expect this regulatory change to attract higher-calibre talent from Test-playing nations and other global circuits to the competition.
