CPN-UML Chair and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli stated that recent political developments and other occurrences have caused a major setback to the national ambition of achieving a prosperous nation and happy citizens. According to his remarks delivered in Kathmandu on 15 October, this situation has effectively delayed the country's development pathway by several decades. During the discussion held at the CPN-UML's Policy Study and Research Foundation office in Chyasal, the political leader explained that humanism serves as the fundamental basis for his political ideology. He argued that the government carries a direct obligation to guarantee that every individual can access basic requirements such as nourishment, clothing, housing, schooling and medical care. He added that this specific perspective guided previous initiatives aimed at promoting social justice and economic advancement throughout the country.
