Citizens travelling to the United Arab Emirates on tourist entry documents face new restrictions under a proposed regulatory shift. According to reports, visitors arriving in the destination country will no longer be permitted to convert their visit visas into official work permits. A significant number of travellers from the country have historically journeyed to the region using tourist visas to find employment after arrival. Alongside the visa conversion restrictions, authorities have implemented changes regarding police clearance documentation. The requirement to present a police clearance report has been removed entirely for individuals travelling on visit visas. Meanwhile, workers seeking employment visas must still submit authenticated police reports, but the fee for authenticating these documents has been reduced by half, dropping from 354 dirhams to 172 dirhams.
