An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the moment magnitude scale struck Uttarakhand in India, sending sudden tremors across parts of western Nepal. According to reports, the epicentre of the seismic disturbance was situated roughly 100 kilometres west of Darchula. Residents located in the Sudurpashchim region felt the ground shake during the late evening hours. The tremor was recorded at 10:38 pm on Tuesday. Monitoring stations noted that the shockwaves crossed the border, causing noticeable movement in areas adjacent to the epicentre. No immediate reports regarding damage or casualties in the border region have been detailed following the event. Data collected from the seismic activity indicates that the disturbance originated outside the country before reaching neighbouring districts. Local populations across the affected zones experienced the physical motion as the shockwaves propagated through the terrain on Tuesday night.
