Officials gathered in Surkhet on Sunday for a meeting of the Main Organising Committee dedicated to the tenth edition of the National Games. Publicity sub-committee coordinator Monalisa Khumbu addressed reporters after the session, confirming that the committee expressed appreciation to the government for the official decision on 7 September to allocate the multi-sport event to Karnali Province, which encompasses Surkhet and neighbouring districts. During the proceedings, delegates approved four separate proposals concerning the upcoming competitions. National Sports Council member-secretary Ramcharitra Mehta addressed attendees by asking them to trust that the tournament will proceed as planned. Furthermore, the committee resolved to empower the performance committee with full authority to execute all necessary logistical duties and management functions required for both the standard games and the first-ever Para National Games. The tournament schedule spans from 2 to 13 December, bringing athletes to venues within Karnali Province. Organisers continue to finalise arrangements as the opening ceremony approaches, with officials working to ensure all regional facilities and administrative structures are fully prepared for the large-scale national gathering.
