Festive celebrations reached a new peak across the capital as the seventh day of the festival arrived. Traditional processions brought sacred items into the heritage prayer room following ancient customs. High-ranking government officials, traditional marching bands and cultural performance groups accompanied the festive carriage along its route through the city streets. Historical custom dictates that a ceremonial palanquin departs from the palace in Gorkha every year. Attendants carry the palanquin to a designated gathering spot before it is transported to the historic royal complex in Kathmandu. This practice dates back to the era when the ruler of Gorkha established his administration from the capital. Households throughout the country also observed the seventh day by arranging sacred plants and leaves inside their prayer rooms according to classical texts. The rituals involve invoking nine divine manifestations through traditional worship that begins with the initial sowing of barley shoots at the start of the fortnight. Public participation and social activity increase noticeably following the arrival of the sacred bundle. The ceremonies highlight centuries-old heritage practices that connect regional historical sites with the central royal courtyard during the autumn festival season.
