Nepal, Belarus sign visa waiver for diplomatic passports

The agreement removes visa barriers for specific categories of passport holders, including diplomatic, official and service documents. This move aims to facilitate easier travel for government representatives and officials from both nations. The deal was formalised on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session currently taking place in New York. Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal represented Nepal in the signing ceremony. He was joined by Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov, who signed on behalf of the Belarusian government. The two ministers engaged in a cordial discussion prior to the formal signing of the document. During their meeting, the ministers discussed various issues of mutual interest. They expressed a joint commitment to further strengthen friendly bilateral relations between the two countries. The conversation covered a range of topics relevant to both diplomatic missions. The officials highlighted specific sectors where they intend to expand cooperation. These areas include labour mobility, educational exchanges, trade facilitation and investment opportunities. People-to-people ties were also identified as a priority for deepening the relationship between Nepal and Belarus.
