During the third edition of the Nepal Premier League held at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground, Karnali Yaks narrowly defeated the Biratnagar Kings. Karnali successfully chased a target of 187 runs, reaching the required total with just one ball remaining in their innings. Captain Sompal Kami delivered a key performance for Karnali Yaks, guiding his team during the second innings with an unbeaten 62 runs off 32 balls. His aggressive knock included four boundary hits alongside three sixes. Kami's match-winning batting followed an earlier contribution with the ball, where he picked up four wickets while conceding 33 runs in his allotted four overs. During the run chase, Karnali recovered through a key partnership after losing initial wickets. Kami joined Pawan Sarraf to construct a 66-run stand for the sixth wicket. Sarraf scored 36 runs from 28 deliveries before being dismissed, helping to stabilise the innings and rebuild Karnali's pursuit of the target. In the first innings, Biratnagar Kings batter Lokesh Bam top-scored but was denied a benchmark score. Bam was removed by Kami on the fifth ball of the 16th over, ending his innings 13 runs short of becoming the first Nepali cricketer to score a century in the competition.
