The ministry has approved the setup of land banks in four additional local levels. Following this decision, the total count of municipal and rural units authorised to run land banks has climbed to nine across the country. According to the ministry, the newly approved jurisdictions comprise Satyawati Rural Municipality, Madane Rural Municipality, and Dhurkot Rural Municipality located in Gulmi district. Approval was also granted to Ribdikot Rural Municipality in Palpa district, while Vyas Municipality of Tanahun had featured among earlier areas. Under the programme, local administrations will identify, catalog, and manage unutilised and barren private plots to channel them into agricultural production. Depending on land use classifications, authorities will encourage the cultivation of food grains, vegetables, cash crops, and fruits, alongside livestock farming and fisheries. The ministry stated that the initiative aims to link unused territory with commercial production, optimise land productivity, boost local yields, and generate employment opportunities to strengthen the local rural economy.
