In short

  • Over 576,000 people left the region between Ghatasthapana and Kartik 3 for the celebrations.
  • Around 1,000 vehicles cross through the main entry points of the valley on a daily basis.
  • Traffic monitors have increased their operational presence at primary roads and entry corridors.

Individuals who previously exited the region for holiday observances are currently journeying back in high volumes. This movement has significantly amplified vehicle density across primary access corridors leading into the urban center. Officials indicate that passenger volumes are climbing steadily on a daily basis. Data compiled by authorities reveals that more than 576,000 individuals departed the urban area between Ghatasthapana and Kartik 3 for the seasonal break. Approximately 1,000 motor vehicles, spanning motorcycles, jeeps, private cars and larger passenger buses, transit through the main entry points on a daily basis. In response to the growing congestion, security personnel and traffic officers have enhanced surveillance along major road networks. Their operational focus is directed at maintaining steady movement, controlling traffic jams and minimising potential safety hazards across all incoming routes.
