Mustang has experienced a rise in traveller arrivals following the conclusion of the Dashain festival. Records compiled at the Ghansa checkpoint indicate that large numbers of visitors have entered the Himalayan district via the Beni–Jomsom–Korala road section. Officials at the District Police Office in Myagdi monitor the movement of both domestic and international visitors at this primary entry checkpoint into Mustang. Data from the checkpoint highlights substantial daily counts during mid-October. Reports show that 1,609 people crossed into the district on 16 October, followed by approximately 1,539 travellers on 17 October. A further 1,692 arrivals were documented by checkpoint authorities on 19 October, reflecting steady traffic along the roadway connecting Myagdi to Mustang. Previous seasonal figures released by authorities illustrate the scale of tourism in the region. Visitor counts reached 19,000 during the mid-July to mid-August period, rising to 23,205 between mid-August and mid-September. The following month, spanning mid-September to mid-October, saw a significant peak with 75,599 arrivals recorded in the district. Historical figures demonstrate that holiday periods routinely draw large crowds to Mustang. In previous years, more than 20,000 domestic travellers arrived in the district within a single day immediately following the Dashain and Tihar festivals. Many of these visitors journey northward to reach the prominent religious destination of Muktinath Temple.
