In short

  • New contract approved for Mangsebung-Larumba-Chisapani road section.
  • The government terminated the previous contract for the construction segment.
  • The project covers a length of 25.5 km linking Jhapa to Panchthar via Ilam.

The government has formally approved a new contract to continue the construction of the Damak-Chisapani road. The decision specifically applies to the Mangsebung-Larumba-Chisapani section of the infrastructure project after the authorities ended the previous arrangement with the prior builder. This road route plays a vital role in regional connectivity, stretching from Damak in Jhapa district to Rabi in Panchthar district while travelling through Mangsebung in Ilam district. The newly approved agreement covers a segment measuring 25.5 kilometres along this crucial regional corridor. The official cancellation of the former contract became necessary after the previous construction firm failed to complete the assigned tasks. Approval of the fresh agreement allows the stalled physical development along the 25.5-kilometre section to move forward under new management.
