The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index experienced a decline of 6.38 points on Wednesday, closing the trading session at 2,572. Despite the drop in the overall index, the market saw an increase in activity, with the daily turnover rising to 3.74 billion rupees, up from 3.13 billion rupees recorded in the previous session. Market breadth remained negative as the share prices of 167 companies declined during the day. In contrast, 99 companies registered gains, while the stock prices of 13 firms remained unchanged. Sectoral performance was mixed, with the banking sector rising slightly by 0.08 percent, while the trading sector faced the steepest decline, falling by 1.38 percent. Among the individual stocks, Ghalemdi Hydropower led the gainers with an increase of 5.89 percent. Other notable gainers included Ingwa Hydropower, which rose by 4.85 percent, Sanima Middle Tamor with a 3.66 percent gain, and Nepal Insurance, which saw its share price increase by 2.99 percent.
