NEPSE Index Drops to 2572 as Daily Turnover Reaches Over Three Billion Rupees

The NEPSE index experienced a downward movement on Wednesday, shedding 6.38 points to close at the 2572 mark. Despite the decline in the primary index, the equity market witnessed an improvement in its overall transaction volume. Total daily turnover reached over 3 billion and 74 crore rupees during the trading session. Market statistics revealed that 99 companies managed to register gains in their share prices, whereas 167 companies saw their stock values decline. Among the different sectors, the trading index experienced the most significant drop, falling by 1.38 percent. Other sectoral indices showed minor fluctuations, with changes of 0.07, 0.09, 0.06, 0.03, 0.55, 0.29, 0.73, 0.39, 0.60, and 0.08 percent. In terms of individual stock performances, Ghalemdi Hydropower led the gainers with an increase of 5.89 percent. It was followed by Ingwa Hydropower, which rose by 4.85 percent, Sanima Middle Tamor at 3.66 percent, and Nepal Insurance, which gained 2.99 percent. Conversely, Suryakunda Hydro Electric fell by 3.64 percent, Yambling Hydropower dropped by 3.42 percent, and Upper Mailung Khola declined by 3.37 percent.
