The Nepal Panchanga Nirnayak Bikas Samiti, also known as the Calendar Determination Development Committee, has fixed 10:26 am on 21 October as the most favourable time to receive Dashain tika this year. Devotees may take tika alongside blessings as prasad from family elders following the immersion ritual for goddess Durga, which is scheduled for 8:49 am on the morning of Bijaya Dashami. Committee Chairperson Dr Purushottam Bhattarai noted that while an ideal astrological moment has been calculated, people are free to accept tika during the entire day of Bijaya Dashami. The announcement covers a wider schedule of religious events leading up to the primary celebration across the festive fortnight. Prior to the main day, the Pachali Bhairav procession will take place on 15 October. Phulpati, or Saptami, falls on 17 October, on which the Taleju Bhawani procession has been arranged for 7:37 am, followed by Sthirasan at 10:39 am.
