Nepal Oil Corporation has formally launched a strategy to combine liquefied petroleum gas suppliers across the country. The initiative aims to modernize gas distribution systems while upgrading supply management for residential users. State administrators confirmed that the integration plan follows guidelines under Point 32 of the strategic framework for fiscal year 2083/84, corresponding to 2026/27. At present, 58 distinct gas enterprises operate across national markets using separate brand names. The state agency distributed official directives to every registered operator on 29 October, urging individual companies to negotiate combinations and formulate detailed operational timetables. Regulators noted that cooking fuel inventories remain stable while the restructuring takes shape. Authorities expect the industry restructuring to streamline market operations and make cylinder purchasing more convenient for households. By combining commercial brands, administrators aim to enforce unified safety standards and build a consumer-friendly supply network. Refiners are expected to submit preliminary strategy roadmaps to government handlers in the coming weeks.
