  • Weather impacts were triggered by Cyclone Arnab originating in the Bay of Bengal.
  • Officials issued travel notices urging visitors to remain in secure locations.

Around 200 visitors traveling across upper Manang have paused their journeys and remained in Manang village due to heavy snowfall. The weather system was triggered by Cyclone Arnab, which originated in the Bay of Bengal and influenced mountain regions across the country, according to local administrative notices. Following the accumulation of thick snow in the upper belt, local officials issued a formal notice advising travelers against continuing their trekking routes. The head of the local conservation project in Manang, Dhak Bahadur Bhujel, confirmed that tourists stayed back in the village after authorities warned of heightened travel dangers across high-altitude paths. Chief District Officer Mukti Prasad Khanal said that the administration urged visitors to remain in secure locations in response to guidance from the weather forecasting division. Khanal explained that potential hazards linked to the cyclone prompted authorities to advise tourists to halt movement until regional safety conditions improve.
