Adverse conditions caused by Arnab brought intense snowfall across upper Mustang alongside continuous rainfall in lower areas on 31 October 2026. The severe weather disrupted normal movement and brought cross-border transit towards the Korala crossing along the border with China to an immediate halt. Armed Police Force Inspector Prakash Dhital, head of the local border outpost, confirmed that vehicular transit and tourist travel towards Korala were halted following heightened risks from severe snow accumulation. Authorities advised tourists travelling in Mustang, local residents, and container freight drivers waiting around Korala to observe strict safety precautions. Rainfall-induced landslides and subsidence blocked the Jomsom–Korala road stretch early in the day, notably causing road collapse at Chaile in Baragung Muktikshetra-3. Project Chief Tejaswi Sharma of the Beni–Jomsom–Korala Road Project stated that previous gabion wall enhancements suffered damage from the heavy downpours that began on Friday night. Road authorities later reopened traffic along the damaged section by installing gabion structures and backfilling soil. Project officials noted that emergency repair measures were conducted swiftly to restore vital vehicular access along the mountainous route.
