Krishnalal Sapkota has established a lemon farm on land previously used for growing rice in Myagdi. The agricultural initiative was planned by Tulachan, who is based in Japan, while Sapkota handles the day-to-day administration and oversight. Workers are deployed to carry out essential maintenance tasks such as weeding, pruning branches, and providing fertilizers to the crops. Sapkota stated that his goal in setting up the orchard is to demonstrate the economic potential of fruit farming and to inspire greater participation in such ventures. Alongside his current lemon cultivation project, he has maintained involvement in commercial orange production since the year 2063 BS. Local observers note that Sapkota has played a significant role in encouraging younger residents and fellow farmers to take up the cultivation of citrus fruits. Others have similarly dedicated their spare time from political and social duties to agricultural activities like citrus farming, goat rearing, and beekeeping, following related paths of community engagement.
